Overview[]
In the underground tombs on the island Atuan half asleep Nameless Ones dwell - dark deity of the earth, immortal and strong, devoid of the power to create, able, however, to destroy. Young girl Tenar, who as a child was the high priestess, one day has to choose - eventually renounce herself, her own name, and will, for the price of authority which give her the power of darkness and death, or to choose the path of difficult, sometimes painful freedom, favoring on the side of life and light.
The wizard Ged, called Sparrowhawk, seeking a magic ring halves hidden in the basement, tries to help Tenar, but a decisive step has to be made by her own...
